Ajay Devgan, R Madhavan and Rakul Preet Singh starrer romantic-comedy De De Pyaar De 2 completed its first week in theaters on Thursday and the domestic net collection has apparently crossed ₹50 crore.
According to trade tracker Sacanilc, the film’s day-wise net collection list is estimated to be around ₹3.44 crore on the seventh day, taking the total collection to around ₹51.19 crore by the end of the week. De De Pyaar De 2 has grossed a total of ₹51 crore, with weekend collections of ₹33 crore.
The earning of the film, released on November 14, was around Rs 8.75 crore. It increased to ₹12.25 crore and ₹13.75 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively, taking the weekend total to around ₹34.75 crore. Mid-week receipts declined significantly: ₹4.25 crore on Monday, ₹5.25 crore on Tuesday, ₹3.50 crore on Wednesday, and an estimated ₹3.35 crore on Thursday.
Compared to its 2019 predecessor, De De Pyaar De, which reportedly earned around ₹55.75 crore in its opening week and became a hit, the sequel is considered an underperformer, yet breaking the ₹50-crore threshold is a modest achievement.
Despite a comparatively strong start, weekend figures declined, indicating poor traffic in non-weekend slots. The sequel lacks the novelty of the first film, and word-of-mouth seems to be mediocre. The film’s performance in the second week is currently being actively monitored: the film’s lifetime potential may be in the range of ₹70–80 crore instead of the ₹90–100 crore range that was initially expected given the weak Monday–Thursday hold. Looking at the current trend lines, a trade commentator has estimated the closing price to be around ₹80 crore.

The first film starred Ajay Devgan, Tabu and Rakul Preet in the primary roles, while Jimmy Shergill, Alok Nath, Kumud Mishra and Javed Jaffrey played supporting roles.
In the film, Ashish Mehra, a divorced 50-year-old NRI investor, develops feelings for Ayesha, a 26-year-old independent woman. The couple gets together despite many issues and opposition from Ashish’s family and ex-wife Manju.
