DC Srinagar chairs DLRC/ DCC Meat; Demonstration of banks in implementation of Govt sponsored schemes

Srinagar July 12:- A meeting of the District Level Review Committee/District Counseling Committee (DCC) was held today in the meeting hall of DC Office Complex under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labro, which is here to review the performance of banks and sponsor departments for the financial year 2024.

Initially, Deputy Commissioner/Chairman DLRC/DCC took a detailed review of banks and sector -wise demonstrations in the implementation of various government schemes. He also reviewed the achievements of banks in lending priority/non -priority sectors under the annual credit scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, DC urged banks and sponsor agencies to prioritize the target under the borrowing of the sector. He also influenced banks to improve the ease of availing banking facilities in favor of the general public.

DC emphasized all the line departments and banks working in the district to ensure effective implementation of self -employment schemes. Mission Youth, Composite Agricultural Development Program (HATP), etc. to further improve credit facilities with proper hand holding of beneficiaries.

The DC asked the banks working in the district that Mission is rapidly investigated to ensure self -employment cases approved by DLIC including UVA and the beneficiaries are approved with timely disbursing of loan. He also urged the early processing of HATP cases to benefit the target population under the plan without any obstruction.

DC emphasized excessive coordination between banks and sponsorship agencies for better implementation of self-employment schemes so that the beneficiaries established their income-generating units in a spontaneous way.

It was informed that banks working in Srinagar have provided a total credit of Rs 10505 crore among the 157616 beneficiaries of the district under various schemes achieving 213% of the target during the financial year 2024-25.

Apart from this, Additional District Development Commissioner, Rifat Aftab Qureshi, Chief Planning Officer, Fayz Ahmed Dar, General Manager DIC, Hamida Akhtar, Lead District Manager (Bank), Nilofar Jaan, LDO RBI, DDM Nabard, all District Officer, Jammu -Bank’s representatives, representatives of banks and financial institutions.
