Days after son quits Congress, Savitri Jindal too joins BJP

Former Haryana minister Savitri Jindal quit the Congress on Thursday to join the BJP in Hisar, Haryana, days after her son and industrialist Naveen Jindal switched parties .

84-year-old Ms Savitri Jindal and her daughter Seema were seen in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other BJP leaders Joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Announcing her resignation from the Congress in a social media post late on Wednesday night, she said: “I represented the people of Hisar for ten years as MLA and served Haryana selflessly as a minister. The people of Hisar are my family as per On the advice of my family, I am resigning as a leading member of Congress today.”

After being welcomed into the party by Saini and Khattar, Savitri Jindal said: “We will once again work together to form a strong government at the center under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” I thank every office bearer and worker of the BJP for making us a part of ‘Modi Parivar’. We will live up to the expectations of the party,” she said.

She added that Haryana had witnessed unprecedented development under the previous Khattar government.

Savitri Jindal further said, “I am deeply impressed by the Prime Minister’s vision of making India a developed country by 2047.” Talking about her husband OP Jindal, who died in a helicopter crash in 2005, she said that he Believes that India can become a great country by improving the lives of downtrodden and economically weak areas.

“He entered politics in 1991 with this pledge. After his death in March 2005, I entered politics to fulfill his dream,” she said.

“Hisar is mine. Honey and kalambhumi. The people of Hisar always show their love and I consider them part of my family,” she said.

Savitri Jindal said the country needs the BJP and Prime Minister Modi today.

In his speech, Saini said that the dual-engine government of the BJP has done a lot of development work in the past 10 years.

Party leaders Kamal Gupta, Bhavya Bishnoi and former governor Ganesh Lal were also present at the event.

Meanwhile, party leaders also inaugurated the election office of Ranjit Singh Chautala, the BJP’s candidate from Hisar Lok Sabha seat dispatched.

Polling for 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana will be held in the sixth phase on May 25.
