British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said Britain could lend Russian central bank assets in the UK to Ukraine, which can recover from Russia’s postwar reparations payments to Kiev. Lord Cameron told the House of Lords on Tuesday: “There is an opportunity to use something like a syndicated loan or a bond, effectively using frozen Russian assets as security, to get that money to the Ukrainians because we know when we will Get the money back.” The compensation was paid by Russia. He added that the government aimed to achieve “maximum unity from the G7 and the EU” on the proposal but that the UK would be prepared to “go forward with allies who want to take this action”
