CS Nanwan to assess the travel system to visit Chandanwadi base camps

Chief Secretary, Atal Dullu, visited the Nanwan Base Camp in Pahgam to review the arrangements made for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 today.

He chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials of civil administration, police, security forces, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and other line departments to assess the facilities being provided to the pilgrims.

During the review meeting, the Chief Secretary was given a comprehensive briefing on various aspects of travel facilities including housing facilities, tent, water supply, power supply, health care services, hygiene measures and other essential logistics. It was reported that round-the-clock monitoring mechanisms have been established to ensure uninterrupted services and any emerging issues faced by pilgrims were immediately addressed.

The Chief Secretary conducted a detailed review of the security protocol, including the deployment of personnel, monitoring measures and technology-based intervention such as facial identification systems, CCTV monitoring and integrated control panels for real-time coordination. He emphasized multi-level security arrangements for the safety of devotees.

After the review, Dullloo conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Nanwan Base Camp. He interacted with a cross-section of stakeholders, including pilgrims, medical and paramedical staff, officers of various departments, service providers and anchor servants. He took the first stock of facilities on the ground and expressed satisfaction on the arrangements.

The Chief Secretary appreciated the collective efforts of all departments and agencies and urged them to continue working with equal commitment to ensure safe, smooth and successful conduct of travel.

The pilgrims also expressed their satisfaction with the overall systems and appreciated the administration for their dedicated and active approach to facilitate the holy pilgrimage.

Later, the Chief Secretary visited the Chandanwadi camp, where he inspected the preparations for medical facilities, availability of emergency response systems and high-up high health emergency conditions. He interacted with health officials and instructed him to ensure adequate deployment of medical staff, ambulances and medicines to meet the needs of pilgrims crossing this important point of travel route.

The Chief Secretary was with the District Magistrate, Anantnag, SF Hamid; Senior Superintendent of Police, Amrit Pal Singh; CMP Director and Senior Officer of Civil Administration, Police Department, SASB and others.
