Ottawa – An Alberta Conservative MP says that the federal government needs to do more to combat the disastrous wildfire of Canada.
When asked by reporters at this morning press conference for their views on provincial restrictions on entering the forests in New Breanswick and Nova Scotia, Michelle Repel Garner said that Ottawa’s inaction has given rise to those measures.
Nova Scotia and New Breanswick had last week banned hiking, fishing, camps and the use of vehicles in their forests, which was in response to the risk of increased forest fire in the forests.
“Prior to four full forest fire, the Liberals promised more water bombers, more firefighters,” the Rendul Garner said. “Where are they?
She said she understands that fear feels meritimers but restricting the movements of individuals “is not right.”
This season, the total region of the country burnt by wildfire is the size of the entire province of New Breanswick.
