A sleepy suburb is in shock after an 80-year-old neighbour was arrested for murdering his wife – found stabbed to death in their garage. Phokam Saysourinho has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the bloody death of wife Thatsaphone Saysourinho, 68.
Neighbours said the alleged murder has left them “baffled and confused”.
“It’s the last thing we suspected,” Tyler Dunn, who was working from his home with his wife, told FOX17.
“There were no signs to make anyone on the outside think anything like that would ever happen.”
The dad-of-one added, who has lived next door for two years, said the elderly couple “always waved”, adding: “They didn’t speak very much English so conversations were short, but definitely very friendly.”
Mr Dunn said Ms Saysourinho – known to them as ‘That’ – would often bring them egg rolls or dinner.
Mr Phokan allegedly stabbed to death his wife in the 4700 block of Swanson Drive in West Murfreesboro, Tennessee, US on Thursday.
Officers were called to the home over an “unknown problem” at the home around 4pm local time (9pm GMT).
Upon arrival, they found Ms Saysourinho suffering from stab wounds and trauma to the body.
