CM Omar Abdullah criticizes PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on reservation in recruitment

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday criticized PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and People’s Conference Leader Sajjad Lone, when he got the opportunity, not to increase the issue of reservation in recruitment.

Talking to reporters of the cabinet sub-committee on reservation in recruitment, Abdullah said, “When Mehboba Mufti needed votes, he also strictly banned his party members from talking about reservation … When he was talking about Rizori and Ponch, he was not? He was expelled from our government houses and our security was reduced, while he was sitting in a government house.

He said that his government had submitted a reservation report within six months, and this was the first time that such progress was made. “If I had to waste time, I must have given six more months to the sub-committee. What they would have done then? Do they have any way to force me to complete this report in 6 months? … The cabinet has accepted the sub-committee report and sent it to the Law Department for his comments …” Abdullah told reporters.

Abdullah also strongly opposed the use of Punjab’s water through Jammu and Kashmir.

From the three western rivers of the Indus system in Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, Abdullah said, “I am ever like a dry for myself?” it?…”.

Asked whether the national conference would transfer the Supreme Court to restore the state, Abdullah replied, “State, we are waiting for PM Modi’s promise in the state.”

Commenting on the growing tension between Iran and Israel, Abdullah questioned Israel’s works and expressed concern for the safety of the trapped Indian students. “What Iran has done that Israel has targeted it? It was said a few months ago that Iran has no nuclear program, so why is it being targeted now? Our students are also stranded there, 400 have been taken to safe places, 1600 are the number of stuck from Jammu and Kashmir,” Abdullah informed.

Answering a question about Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s remarks that he had his opinion led by his party, Omar Abdullah said, “This is the internal matter of the Congress.”

The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir also inaugurated a new Rabitta office in Jammu, which aims to strengthen public outreach and grievance redressal. According to Abdullah, the move followed the successful work of the party’s Kashmir Rabitta office.

He said, “We have opened the Rabitta office in Jammu because our Kashmir Rabitta office is doing very well. So we decided to open this office in Jammu as well. Officers will be here. Online and offline, people can give their representation. We will try to work in a short time.” (AI)
