Clement and Varsho hit homers as Blue Jais tightened the Homestand with a 5–1 win

Erni Clement hit a three-run homer and Jose Berrios threw an effective innings of 5 1/3 as Toronto Blue Jais kicked six-market homestand on Tuesday with a 5–1 win over Chicago cub.

Along with Dolton Varsho and Ty France, riding in the fourth innings, Clement replaced the first pitch slider of Xavier Assad for his ninth homer in the season.

Varsho added a single shot in the eighth innings for his 12th Homer of the Year.

Vladimir Gurero Junior made three hits for Blue Jais, which improved his American League-Best Record to 70–50. Toronto also owns the best home record in AL at 39-19.

Berios (9–4) struggled several times with control-but still issued four walks-but still kept the cub (67-51) in the check. He kept him for two hits and did not leave a run.
