Classic Legends to introduce BSA motorcycles in India by 2025

The premium two-wheeler division of domestic automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra, classic legendsplans to expand its model range, dealership footprint and share of the motorcycle industry globally.

In an unprecedented development, Classic Legends is likely to introduce Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited (BSA), the UK-based brand of motorcycles, in the Indian markets by 2025. This partnership is expected to generate excitement and be meaningful in the automotive world. Stake a stake in this emerging space.

Reports suggest that BSA motorcycles are currently available in 12-13 European countries and the United States, and this two-wheeler electric bike could grace the roads of India in the next 12-18 months.

According to the CEO of Classic Legends, the manufacturing company is now looking to introduce the BSA brand in Australia, Japan and New Zealand. Ashish Joshi, CEO of Classic Legends, said, “We are currently looking at demand fulfillment for BSA in twelve to thirteen European countries, and the US is going to be a big hit, not only in terms of capacity but also in terms of energy. Moreover, if it can be launched in Australia, Japan and New Zealand, why leave out India?” Team-BHP report.

As part of the brand’s global expansion strategy, Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited (BSA), will launch its range of models in Australia and the US by 2024. The report also suggests that the Classic Legends roadmap also includes Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and more. BSA’s electric bikes in India will be manufactured at Mahindra & Mahindra’s plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.

Team-BHP also revealed that the company may also bring twin-cylinder motorcycles to India, apart from strengthening its core Yezdi and Jawa bikes in the 350-500 cc segment. However, this will probably be done depending on the demand for such bikes.

Classic Legends currently sells an average of around 4,000 to 5,000 bikes monthly and has now put a renewed focus on product launches while increasing its global footprint and network expansion.

Birmingham Small Arms, aka BSA, was founded in 1861 in Small Heath to produce firearms. Its metal factories were later converted to bicycle setups and then motorcycles by 1863. The brand’s motorcycle division was established in 1903, with the first motorcycle released by the firm in 1910.

By the 1950s the brand became the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, but in the 1970s it went bankrupt and ceased motorcycle production. Subsequently, the brand was acquired by Mahindra Group in 2016.
