Class 12 student missing near Mumbai on exam day, police starts search

Thane, Maharashtra:

A 17-year-old boy from Navi Mumbai city in Maharashtra has reportedly gone missing after leaving home to appear for the Class 12 board exams, police said today.

An official of Rabale police station said that the boy left his home in Ghansoli area around 8:45 am on Wednesday to go to a college in Vashi to appear for the examination.

He said he did not return home till late night after which his parents searched for him and later contacted the police.

Based on the complaint of the boy’s father, a case was registered under Indian Penal Code section 363 (kidnapping) and efforts were on to trace him, the officer said.
