Class 11 schoolgirl raped, murdered by teacher in Rajasthan’s Barmer; Dead body found in water tank

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by her school teacher in Rajasthan’s Barmer district, police said on Monday. He said that the body of the Class 11 student was found in a water tank.

The accused Prahladram went to the girl’s house on Sunday morning when her family members had gone to a wedding and raped her. Later, he killed the girl and threw her body in a water tank, said Surbhan Singh, station house officer of Bakhasar police station.

“When the girl’s family members returned home, they did not find her. Later, they found his body in a water tank,” Singh said.

He said that the accused is absconding and efforts are being made to arrest him.
