Hyderabad:
A man in Telangana’s Sangareddy district allegedly killed a teenager and then climbed a mobile phone tower and hanged himself with a wire, police said on Sunday.
Police said the man (28) and the teenager (15), who worked at a scrap shop, stole the copper.
An argument broke out between them over sharing the money earned from the sale of stolen copper, following which the accused strangled the teenager to death and threw him into a water body on Saturday night.
He then climbed a cell phone tower on Sunday and confessed to killing the teenager.
The boy’s body was later recovered.
Efforts to get the defendant down from a cell phone tower were futile and he was hanged from wires, police said.
