SBI is the financial institution authorized to issue electoral bonds.

Jammu:

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said here on Wednesday that the Election Commission has received details from the State Bank of India (SBI) regarding electoral bonds and will share all relevant information in a timely manner.

The assertion came after the Supreme Court directed SBI to submit details of electoral bonds purchased since April 12, 2019, to the EC.

SBI is the financial institution authorized to issue electoral bonds.

“SBI was supposed to submit the data by March 12. They provided us with the details on time. I will go back and look at the data (and) it will be disclosed in time,” Mr. Kumar told reporters here.

Mr. Kumar arrived here on Wednesday to review preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Central Election Commission said: “We are ready for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. We will ensure free and fair elections across the country. We request voters across the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, to enthusiastically participate in the ‘Feast of Democracy’. “

He said social media teams would be set up in all districts to respond to fake news in real time.

“Adequate security will be provided to all candidates and central forces will be deployed,” he added.

Kumar said strict vigilance will be maintained on online cash transfers through wallets in Jammu and Kashmir.

He added that JK will provide at-home voting facilities for people above 85 years of age and persons with disabilities.
