The government has imposed an age limit for pregnancy through in vitro fertilization (IVF) after the parents of late singer Sidhu Moose Wala gave birth to their second son last week. The singer’s father, Balkaur Singh, alleged that the district administration has been harassing him demanding documents about his child.
The couple welcomed a child on Saturday, nearly two years after their singer son was shot and killed. Charan Singh, 58, conceived the child through in vitro fertilization (IVF), a relative said earlier this year.
In an Instagram video on Tuesday, Balkaur Singh asked the government to end the treatment.
“The district is harassing me, asking me to provide documents about the children. I request the government and the chief minister to let the treatment end. Whenever I am asked to appear in court, I will appear. I assure you that I will produce all legal documents.” documents,” Mr. Singh said.

The Union health ministry last week sought a report from the Punjab government on the IVF treatment of Sidhu Moose Wala’s mother Charan Singh, noting that the age limit for IVF is 21-50 years.
“As per Section 21(g)(i) of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, the prescribed age limit for women undergoing ART services is 21 to 50 years,” the letter said.
When Balkal Singh announced the birth of his second son last week, he shared a photo with him on Instagram and said the family was healthy. His eldest son, singer-turned-politician Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot dead on May 29, 2022, in Mansa district of Punjab.
