Gandhinagar, 3 October (IANS) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said on Friday that it has arrested two government officials in Gujarat and Maharashtra in two separate bribe cases after successful trap operations.
In the first case, the CBI worked on a complaint against the Auditor/Personnel/Personnel/Personnel/Personnel of Gandhinagar, Auditor/Personnel, Ashokkumar JDav of Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA).
A owner of a private company, the complainant alleged that JDAV demanded a bribe of Rs 4 lakh – about 2 percent of the bid price of Rs 2.5 crore – to clean the supply order related to CCTV equipment for the Aadhaar of the Air Force in Pune.
On 30 September, the CBI laid a trap and apprehended JDav, accepting Rs 3.5 lakh from the complainant. He was immediately arrested.
The CBI said in a statement that the accused was produced before a special judge in Pune after receiving transit remand from Ahmedabad and sent to police custody till 4 October.
In the second case, the CBI filed a complaint against the Chief Office Superintendent at Laxmishankar Mathuraparasad, Divisional Railway Hospital, Hingoli Gate, Nende.
He was accused of demanding a pending bill of Rs 91,576 and a demand of Rs 25,000 from a contractor for a performance guarantee of Rs 1.25 lakhs related to housekeeping and cleaning contracts. After the conversation, the amount was fixed for Rs 20,000.
On 29 September, the CBI implicated Mathurparasad at his residence in Nanded, where he was caught red -handed accepting bribe. He was arrested on the spot.
According to the CBI, the later discovery was made in the residential and official premises of the two officers.
CBI officials said that documents and digital evidence are being investigated.
Both arrests underline the agency’s continuous action on corruption within government offices. Further investigation is going on.
