New Delhi:
At least 10 people were killed when a car rammed into a stationary truck on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara highway in Gujarat on Wednesday.
The victims were all passengers of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga car and were traveling to Ahmedabad from Vadodara.
Eight people reportedly died on the spot and two others died while being transported to hospital.
The accident occurred near Nadiad, causing traffic jams on the 93-kilometer-long highway.
Nadiad MLA Pankaj Desai said the truck might have stopped in the left lane of the highway due to a technical glitch and the car driver did not have enough time to apply the brakes and hit the truck.
Two ambulances and a highway patrol team attended the scene following the accident.
