Chikkamagaluru:
Veteran BJP leader and its parliamentary board member BS Yediyurappa on Sunday said he is hopeful that the party will release the first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in three-four days.
The former Chief Minister of Karnataka said that due to the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is an atmosphere in favor of BJP in the entire country and state.
Mr Yediyurappa replied, “…we will know in three or four days who the candidate is and whether there are any changes…I hope (the first list will be released in three or four days).” For a question.
He said, “Because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is an atmosphere in favor of BJP in the entire country and Karnataka and the party is trying to win all the 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka.” He said, “I am confident that we will win.” ‘Succeed in it.’
The BJP had captured 25 of the total 28 seats in Karnataka in the 2019 general elections, while party-backed independent Sumalatha Ambareesh also emerged victorious in Mandya.
Asked whether the BJP may give the Mandya seat to alliance partner JD(S) amid reports of Sumalatha Ambareesh holding a meeting with her supporters, Mr Yediyurappa said, “Nothing has been discussed, I have no information.” Yes, things will become clear in a few days.”
He said Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje had won from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency last time by a margin of over 3.5 lakh votes and this time too she would win by an even bigger margin. “There should be no doubt about it.”
A postcard campaign was launched – reportedly by some BJP workers – urging PM Modi and party chief JP Nadda not to field Ms Karandlaje from Udupi-Chikmagalur.
Describing the campaign as a “systematic conspiracy”, Mr Yediyurappa said, “We know who is behind this, she (Karandlaje) will not lose courage, everyone knows she has done a good job as a Union Minister. She is a big Will win by margin.” Compared to last time,” he said.
