Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Kadiyam Srihari and his daughter Kadiyam Kavya on Sunday at Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s Witnessed joining the Congress party, this was seen as a boost to the Congress party in Telangana.
Kadiyam Srihari served as Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister of Telangana from 2014 to 2018 under the K Chandrashekhar Rao government.
Telangana Congress Party in a post on ‘X’ said, “BRS MLAs Kadiyam Srihari and Kadiam Kavya joined the Congress party in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Revanth Reddy and AICC Chief Ms. Deepa Das Munshi.”
Meanwhile, BRS president and former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao embarked on a day-long visit to Jangaon, Suryapet and Nalgonda districts to take stock of crops that have withered due to lack of water and interact with farmers who have suffered losses.
Earlier on Saturday, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi joined the Congress party in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and AICC chief Deepadas Munshi.
Gadwal Vijayalakshmi is the daughter of former BRS leader Keshav Rao. Keshav Rao and former Telangana Lieutenant Governor Kadiyam Srihari quit the BRS party on Friday.
After quitting the BRS party, Mr. Rao confirmed that he will join the Congress party. He also met Telangana CM Revanth Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad on Saturday.
