BRS leader K Kavitha was taken to Tihar jail and a Delhi court on Tuesday remanded her to judicial custody till April 9, jail officials said, with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) pleading that if released, the “highly influential “The arrestee may have influenced witnesses and tampered with evidence.

On March 15, the 46-year-old Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader was arrested by the central investigation agency in a money laundering case related to the excise policy in Delhi.

“She has reached Tihar Jail and will be lodged in Jail No-6, the women’s jail. She will be medically examined,” an official said.

K Kavitha was sent to the ED custody on March 16 for seven days. Her remand was extended by three days on Saturday.
