Director General of Border Rhodes Organization (BRO) (DG) Lieutenant General Raghu Srinivasan said on Sunday that the statutory body under the Ministry of Defense has been tasked to improve the parts taken by the devotees for the Amarnath Yatra.
He said that tracks for two approaches – Chandanwari and Baltal – were taken by devotees to the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir, which was only three to four feet wide, widening up to 12 feet.
“We are very lucky and blessed as a bro, which are associated with projects incorporating religious destinations in the extreme parts of our northern borders. There are two attitudes of the Amarnath Yatra: one from Chandanwari and one from one Baltal. Amarnath Shrine.
He further stated that the Bro had taken effective measures to ensure that geological conditions in the environment-sensitive field were not disturbed. He said that handrails have been installed for 32 kilometers along the immortal route for the ease of devotees.
“It has also been done that given the extreme religious significance of this place, extreme care has been taken to ensure that geological conditions are not disturbed, environmental-sensing is maintained, and that whatever work we had to do was done was done by prudent technical means. We are completing this task, and we hope that with Amanat,”
The annual Amarnath Yatra has expressed appreciation for the overall arrangements along the security forces and the Pahalgam route, saying that they feel safe and supported in their spiritual journey for Shri Amarnath ji’s holy cave.
Earlier on Saturday, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that about 26,000-27,000 pilgrims visited the Amarnath Yatra since the onset of the annual pilgrimage, removing the misconception that the enthusiasm of the pilgrims will be reduced after the Pahlgam terror attack.
The Union Minister attributed the high polling of pilgrims to the success of the government and said that people are confident that there will be no shortcomings in security arrangements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (AI)
