Trishan Patel, a British Indian, has joined the Pakistan football team as an assistant coach and performance analyst in Islamabad.

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) said Patel, a UEFA A-level coach, had previously coached the Pakistan team online.

“He will assist head coach Stephen Constantine in preparing the team for the World Cup preliminary qualifying matches in the Asia region,” a PFF official said.

He said that Patel will be with the team for the matches against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan.

The home match against Saudi Arabia will be played on 6 June while the home match against Tajikistan will be played on 11 June.

The official said Patel has immense coaching experience, having also worked with the Liverpool Academy and Luton Town FC.
