A woman and 14-year-old girl were molested and an 11-year-old boy arrested following a series of incidents in Bristol
Police said three other women were approached by a man armed with a knife.
Avon and Somerset Police said the five incidents occurred in the Redcliffe and Montpelier areas Bristol Between March 20 and 25.
Detectives believe the incidents may be related due to some similarities in where they occurred and the descriptions of the suspects.
Police said an 11-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incidents. He has since been released on bail.
Acting Chief Inspector Tom Gent, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: “We continue to investigate each incident and remain open to whether they are related to each other.
“The person we have arrested is a child and we have interviewed him along with an appropriate adult to see if he has any information about these incidents that could assist our investigation.”
He said the force also engages with local partners as part of its support responsibilities.

He added: “The nature of these crimes is concerning and police continue to target patrols to provide reassurance and act as a deterrent.”
The arrests follow a public appeal for witnesses to the incident and any footage that could help police investigations.
