brigitte macron‘s daughter testified Tuesday about the “deterioration” of her mother’s life after alleged cyberbullying.

Ten people are accused of allegedly posting malicious comments online about the French first lady’s gender and sexuality and linking her 24-year age difference with her husband to “pedophilia”.

Some posts have been viewed thousands of times.

Some defendants told the court that the comments they posted were humorous or sarcastic and that they did not understand why they were being prosecuted.

They include an elected official, a teacher and a computer scientist. If found guilty, he faces up to two years in jail.

“She can’t ignore the horrible things said about her,” Tiphaine Auzier Told the second and last day of Paris tests.

“I want to show what her life looks like because she was the target of massive cyberbullying. This has led to the deterioration of her living conditions,” Auzier, one of Brigitte Macron’s three children, told the court.

Auzier said that many of Macron’s images are being misused online: “As a result, he is forced to be careful about his dress, his posture and his everyday life.”

Brigitte Macron did not attend the trial. The decision is likely to come later.

Auzier said the family faces consequences.

“It impacts their children and grandchildren. They hear things in school like, ‘Your grandmother is a man.’ I don’t know how to stop it,” she said.

Macron has for years been surrounded by conspiracy theories that Brigitte was born to a man named Jean-Michel Trogneux, who reportedly took the name Brigitte as a transgender woman. Jean-Michel Trogneux is the name of Brigitte’s brother.

Asked if she sees her uncle, Auzier said, “I saw him a few months ago and he was doing great.”
