Beer giant Brudog is ready to shut down its ten times this week, including its first time in Aberdeen. The move is expected to risk around 100 jobs.
The Scottish company stated that despite efforts to maintain these places, it is “not possible to make these bars commercially viable”. All affected places are slate to prevent operation on 26 July, which initiates a counseling period of at least 14 days for employees.
Brewdog stated that this would close the sites including its Aberdeen flagship pub on the group’s first site Gallowgate after a review process.
Founder James Watt The staff stated that the closures are part of a refreshing of their property, partly in response to the “rising cost, increase regulation and economic pressure” in the region.
He said that the brand will still look at its bar business, with more large bar plans in “destination” places and to open small community bars.
The company will close the following time:
-Berdeen Gallowgate
-Briton
-Kamden, London
-Dundee
-Leeds North Street
-Oxford
-Sheffield
-Shefard Bush, London
-Shedich, London
-York
A spokesperson of Budogs said: “We can confirm that after reviewing our bars business, we have taken a difficult decision to shut down 10 times – which reflects a more concentrated strategy and rationalization of our bar footprint.
“This decision is not only a reaction to the UK’s hospitality market, but an active decision-up cost to redefine the bar division for long-term and profitable growth, accounting for the ongoing industry challenges, including the cost, increasing regulation and economic pressures.
“We are working hard to reduce the impact on our people, and we expect to re -prepare many affected team members in the Budog Network.
“For those who leave business, we are providing as much support as possible during this infection.”
