Washington:
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said a Boeing 737 MAX airliner operated by United Airlines skidded on the grass at Houston’s George Bush Airport and overran the runway early Friday.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA will investigate. The 160 passengers and six crew members were not injured. They got off the plane and were taken to the terminal, the FAA and United Airlines said. The plane took off from Memphis.

United said it would move the plane off the taxiway as quickly as possible and would “work with the National Transportation Safety Board, the FAA and Boeing to understand what occurred.”
This is the third incident this week involving United Boeing aircraft. Shares of Boeing and United Airlines both fell 1% on Friday.
One day ago, a United Airlines Boeing 777-200 bound for Japan lost a tire after taking off from San Francisco. It was diverted to Los Angeles and landed safely. There were 249 people on board the plane.
A United Airlines Boeing 737 flying from Houston to Florida returned to the airport shortly after takeoff on Monday after the engine ingested some plastic bubble wrap that was on the field before takeoff, the airline said.
Social media posts showed flames shooting from the engine.
Separately, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board said on Thursday it was investigating a Boeing 737 MAX 8 flight last month that experienced a “stuck” rudder pedal after landing on the runway.
