Body found in search of experienced walker on Isle of Sky

A Body Found in search of a missing walker who disappeared Isle of Skye,

67 -year -old Rodi McFerson was reported disappeared on Wednesday and his family has been informed.

He was last seen outside the Slimachan Hotel on Monday, which was walking in the direction of the Srigancha Bridge, and has not been heard ever since.

Mr. McFerson was described as a “experienced walker” in an appeal Police Scotland.

On Friday afternoon, the body of a man was detected by police and local Mountain Rescue Teams at Cuilins.

No suspicious circumstances will be seen around the death and a report will be presented to the Proctorial Fiscal.

The formal identity is yet to be known.

A spokesperson at the Sky Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) said: “Comprehensive discoveries were made, mainly focusing on the Red Hills of Northern Qualin and some parts. On Thursday, thanks to a local guide, thanks to the useful information from a local guide, Bruch Na moved to the area around Fret.

“Around the afternoon on Friday, with better weather and cloudless tops, a body was seen on the edge of a grass on the rocks between Hearta and Lota Coris. It was immediately clear that reducing casualties for security would long and technically demand.

“A team member was launched in a position and confirmed that there were no signs of life, and that much more equipment would be required. Fortunately, the Stornove Coastguard helicopter R948 was able to return and carry a straight lift from the verge – an incredible effort and a huge relief.

“The helicopter later returned several times to help the teams and equipment remove the slogachan.
