Boat capsizes in river in Gadchiroli district; Woman drowns, 5 others missing

A woman drowned and five others went missing after a boat capsized in Wainganga river in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district on Tuesday, police said. He said the incident took place around 11 am near Ganpur village when the women were going towards nearby Chandrapur district.

Police said that the boat overturned in the river amid strong winds. He said the body of a woman has been recovered and a search is on for five other people on board the boat, all women, who are missing.
