BLACKPINK’s Lisa to Debut in Season 3 of White Lotus

After months of speculation surrounding BLACKPINK’s Lisa Manobal’s debut, it has now been confirmed that she will join the cast of HBO’s The White Lotus Season 3, Variety reports. Production on the next season will begin in February and will be filmed in picturesque locations in Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok. While specific details about Manobar’s character and plot remain under wraps, what is known is that the story will introduce a new set of guests at another White Lotus property. Interestingly, Manobal now becomes the second BLACKPINK member to star in the HBO series. Jennie Ruby Jane previously made her TV debut on the controversial TV series Idol, which stars Lily Rose Depp, The Weeknd, Ray Starring Rachel Sennott and others, the show will premiere in June 2023.

Lisa will join a star-studded cast that includes Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Francesca Coney, Nicolas DuVernay, Anas Fedaravicius , Christian Friedel, Scott Glenn, Walton Goggins, Dom Hetracu, Sarah Katherine Hooker, Jason Isaacs, Julian Cos Tove, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Morgana O’Reilly, Lake Patravadi, Shalini Perris, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tame Taptiton and Amy Lou Wood. The addition of the K-pop star has further raised expectations for the next season.

It’s worth noting that the show’s standout performer Jennifer Coolidge won’t be appearing in season three, as her character bid farewell last season. Speaking about the upcoming season, Coolidge opened up in a Today interview about how jealous she is of the new cast.

She said: “I’m jealous of everyone who goes. I just want to emphasize that I’m not good at sports but there’s nothing I can do about it. When they kill you, you have to accept it. Because it means they won’t ask you for your clothing measurements or Anything else. It’s over. I have to get another thing. I guess I have to make another thing happen. But am I sad? I just want to be honest, I’m sorry I wasn’t a part of it. I think (third Season) is going to be great. There’s going to be all kinds of good stuff in there, probably great sex stuff. It’s never a dull moment.”

White Lotus Season 3 is created, written and directed by Mike White, in partnership with executive producers David Bernad and Mark Kamine. HBO has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to promote the upcoming season. While the new season will be filmed in Thailand, the first season was shot in Hawaii and the second in Sicily. The 2021 debut season was nominated for 20 Emmy Awards and won 10, winning the title of Outstanding Limited Series or Anthology Series. On the other hand, the second season, which premiered in December 2022, continued its success, receiving 23 Emmy nominations and winning 5 awards.
