Jaipur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified preparations for the Anta Assembly by-election with the announcement of its full election committee after releasing the list of its star campaigners.
The party has appointed former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s son and Jhalawar-Baran MP Dushyant Singh as election in-charge, indicating the importance the BJP attaches to this high-stakes contest.
The newly formed election committee, comprising two MPs, nine MLAs and two ministers, reflects the party’s broader strategy to ensure victory on the seat.
Along with Dushyant Singh, minister Jogaram Patel has been named as election co-in-charge, while MLA Srichand Kripalani and district in-charge Chhagan Mahur will serve as joint in-charge, and Naresh Sikarwar and Mahendra Kumawat have been tasked with overseeing the election management and logistics.
Anta assembly seat holds special political importance for the BJP, especially for Vasundhara Raje and her family.
Located within the Jhalawar-Baran Lok Sabha constituency, from where Dushyant Singh is the sitting MP, the seat has long been a part of Raje’s political stronghold. By handing over this responsibility to Dushyant, BJP aims to take advantage of the local network and strengthen its base in the area.
Party sources see this by-election as more than just a local contest – it is a prestige issue for both the Congress and the BJP in Rajasthan, especially as it could impact the upcoming panchayat and municipal corporation elections.
A strong operation team has been assembled for ground operations.
Senior leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Rajendra Gehlot, Minister Manju Baghmar, MLAs Radheshyam Bairwa, Suresh Dhakad, Vishwanath Meghwal, Anita Bhadel, Pratap Singhvi, Chandrabhan Singh Akya, and Lalit Meena, along with former MLA Banwari Lal Singhal and senior party figure Tulsariram Dhakad, will spearhead campaign efforts across the constituency.
With the election machinery in action and local dynamics heating up, all eyes are now on how the BJP’s coordinated effort under the leadership of Dushyant Singh will shape Anta’s battle.
