The JD(U) president addressed a rally in Samastipur district, from where the Prime Minister launched his campaign for the high-profile elections.
Kumar criticized RJD president Lalu Prasad, whom he did not name, for misgovernating the state and “making his wife the chief minister when he had to step down”.
The longest serving chief minister was referring to Prasad’s resignation from the post of chief minister following the CBI charge sheet in the fodder scam cases in 1997 and Rabri Devi taking over.
Kumar said, “He (Prasad) has not mended his ways. After supporting his wife, he is now busy raising sons and daughters.”
The gesture was towards India Bloc’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav and Patliputra MP Misa Bharti.
The JDU president, who has been an NDA partner for most of the 1990s, said, “I had a brief alliance with his party, but later I realized that it was a mistake and I was better off in the alliance which I was a part of from the beginning.”
