Indian cricket team batsman Suryakumar Yadav has posted a cryptic picture on social media, leaving fans worried ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). There are reports that Suryakumar, who plays for Mumbai Indians, may miss the first two matches of the tournament. The batsman is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru after ankle and groin surgeries. While his social media posts suggest he’s getting back in shape, there’s a chance he won’t be able to return in time. On Tuesday, Suryakumar posted a “heartbroken” emoji on his Instagram Story, a post that left fans wondering if the reports were true.

Suryakumar Yadav is likely to miss MI’s first match of IPL 2024, reports Sportstar. He is yet to receive fitness clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He underwent groin surgery in February. This is the second surgery he has had in recent months following an ankle injury.

“I want to thank everyone for their concern and well wishes for my health, and I’m happy to tell you that I will be back soon,” he posted on X after the surgery.

Suryakumar led the Indian T20I team in the three-match series in South Africa in the absence of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. He scored 56 off 36 balls in the second T20I at Gokbehar and 100 off 56 balls in the third T20I in Johannesburg.

He was not part of the Indian ODI team for the three-match series in South Africa. Yadav also missed the home series against Afghanistan due to injury.
