Washington:

U.S. President Joe Biden on Sunday paid tribute to Muslim communities around the world on the occasion of Ramadan, reiterating that the United States will continue working non-stop to achieve an immediate and sustained ceasefire for at least six weeks as part of a deal to free hostages.

“While we deliver more life-saving assistance to Gaza, the United States will continue working nonstop to achieve an immediate and sustained ceasefire for at least six weeks as part of the hostage release agreement. We will continue to move toward our long-term goals.” “Long-term stability, A future of security and peace. That includes a two-state solution that ensures equal freedom, dignity, security and prosperity for Palestinians and Israelis. This is the only path to lasting peace,” Biden said.

He said the United States will continue to lead international efforts to provide more humanitarian assistance to Gaza by land, air and sea.

“Earlier this week, I directed our military to lead an emergency mission to establish a temporary dock on the Gaza coast that can receive large amounts of aid. We are coordinating with international partners, including Jordan, to airdrop aid. We We will continue to work with Israel to expand land transportation, insist on opening more routes, open more crossing points, and provide more assistance to more people,” Biden said.

In his speech, Biden said that the new moon marks the beginning of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, and he and the first lady extended their best wishes and prayers to Muslims in the United States and around the world.

“This holy month is a time of reflection and renewal. This year, it comes at a time of great pain. The war in Gaza has brought terrible suffering to the Palestinian people. More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of them civilians, “That includes thousands of children. Some of them are family members of Muslim Americans who are grieving deeply today for their lost loved ones,” he said.

“Nearly 2 million Palestinians have been displaced by the war; many are in desperate need of food, water, medicine and shelter. As Muslims gather around the world to break fast in the coming days and weeks, the suffering of the Palestinian people” will become a concern for many the primary consideration. That’s my top priority as well,” the President of the United States said.

Biden noted that there is an “alarming resurgence” of hatred and violence against American Muslims in the United States. Biden said Islamophobia has absolutely no place in the United States, a country built on freedom of belief and the contributions of immigrants, including Muslim immigrants.

“My administration is developing the first-ever national strategy to combat Islamophobia and related forms of bigotry and discrimination to address hatred against Muslim, Sikh, South Asian and Arab American communities wherever it occurs. No one should have to worry about being targeted because of their background or beliefs, at school, at work, on the street or in the community,” he said.

“To our Muslims across the country, please know that you are deeply respected members of our American family. To those who are grieving in times of war, I hear you, I see you, and I pray that you are in faith , find comfort in family.” and community. To all of you celebrating the start of Ramadan tonight, I wish you a safe, healthy and happy month. Ramadan,” Biden said.
