President Joe Biden urged the U.S. House of Representatives to immediately accept Senate-passed supplemental funding for Ukraine and Israel as he hosted Czech Prime Minister Peter Fiala in the Oval Office on Monday.

The visit comes as Biden aims to highlight the efforts of other countries to support Ukraine. Previously, the Czech government announced that it would deliver 1 million rounds of artillery shells to Ukraine, which Kiev said was urgently needed on the battlefield against Russian invasion.

“As the Czech Republic remembers, Russia does not stop at Ukraine,” Biden said. He called on Congress to pass additional funding so the United States can do its part to help Ukraine. “They have to do it now,” he said.

Fiala praised the U.S. president for his leadership in supporting Ukraine, adding: “We are also doing our best.”

“In 1968 I saw Russian tanks on the streets of my town and I didn’t want to see that again,” he said.

Biden called the Czech Republic a “great ally” in NATO, and Fiala said the Czech Republic’s decision to purchase F-35 fighter jets from the United States will “make our cooperation and security even stronger.”

Fiala told reporters after meeting with Biden that he would meet with lawmakers on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to further discuss Ukraine aid.

“Support, help from the United States is very important,” Fiala said.
