New Delhi:

Hema Malini, the BJP MP from Mathura Lok Sabha constituency, said on Saturday that the people of the state are “Brajwasi” enthusiastic about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and good things will happen in the future.

Talking about the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates, BJP MP Hema Malini said: “Everyone in Mathura is very excited about the elections. This is the third time that the BJP has given me a vote. It gives me great pleasure to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all Brajvas. I would also like to thank our ‘Radha Rani’ for giving me this opportunity to serve Mathura again.”

“I want people to support my work and development of Mathura. I want to work on drainage, rail connectivity and education in Mathura. I will bring Central University here. Good things will happen here,” she said.

The actor-turned-politician also said, “Modiji will be working on many things in the future and I have to support him as ‘Sakshi’ in this regard.

“This is Prime Minister Modi’s assurance and the party’s dream to achieve the 400-mark. There will be ‘400 Paar’ and ‘AbKiBaarPherModiSarkar’,” the BJP MP said.

The Election Commission on Saturday announced the polling dates for the Lok Sabha polls. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar today said polling will be held in seven phases starting from April 19.

Earlier on Wednesday, Hema Malini said that ‘Brajvathy’ supports the ruling party and will help them cross the 400-seat mark in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

“The people of Mathura ‘Brajwasi’ are with us and they will 100 per cent help the BJP cross the 400-seat mark,” the actor-turned-politician told ANI on Viksit Bharat-Modi’s Assurance programme.

The BJP MP also said she will work on railways, girl education and many other important issues.

Hema Malini won from the Mathura seat in the 2014 general elections, defeating Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary. She won the seat again in the 2019 election.

This is the third time that the BJP has given a ticket to Hema Malini. She has been contesting from Mathura seat since 2014.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party won a total of 303 seats, leaving behind the established party’s 52 seats.

The Lok Sabha polls are scheduled to be held in April-May this year.
