BCCI releases complete IPL schedule, final to be held in Chennai on May 26 | Cricket News

BCCI released the complete schedule of IPL 2024 on Monday. BCCI had earlier released the schedule for the first two weeks of IPL 2024 (21 matches). The rest of the schedule has been drawn up keeping in mind the polling dates and locations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections across the country. Like the season opener, the Qualifiers 2 and Finals will also be held in Chennai, home of defending champions Chennai Super Kings. Qualifier 2, between the losers of Qualifier 1 and the winners of the knockout rounds, will take place on Friday, May 24, followed by the climax showdown on Sunday, May 26.

In the second phase, Delhi Capitals will play their remaining five home games at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium in front of an enthusiastic home crowd after opting to play their first two home games in Visakhapatnam.

Kings XI Punjab started their season at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur and will conclude their home match in Dharamshala. The picturesque stadium with beautiful views will be the home ground of PBKS and will host two matches on May 5 and 9 against Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively.

Rajasthan Royals have also chosen a second venue in Guwahati and will play their last two home games in Assam. They will first face Kings XI Punjab on May 15, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders on May 19, which also marks the end of the league phase of IPL Season 17.

After the break on May 20, the focus will shift to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as the world’s largest cricket stadium will host an exciting Qualifier 1 on Tuesday, May 21 The two top teams will compete in an exciting knockout round on Wednesday, May 22nd.
