In an important milestone for the development of ground level, District Bandipora has secured second rank in the north region under the prestigious Aspirational Block Program (ABP) of the Government of India, NITI Aayog, Government of India.
This recognition shows commitment to effective governance, continuous developmental progress and inclusive development of the district.
Under this nationwide program, Tulal Block of Bandipora was selected as a focal block for targeted interventions by the Government of India. Since its inclusion, focused efforts in major areas such as health, education, agriculture, financial inclusion and infrastructure have improved average.
The achievement has been made possible under the mentorship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmed Qadri, whose leadership and coordination have given impressive results on the ground.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said, “We are working with a clear mission to bring Bandipora to the number one position, ensuring 100% saturation under every development indicator.”
This recognition not only brings immense pride for the district, but also makes Bandipora eligible for prizes of Rs 2.5 crore, which will be used to further strengthen development interventions, further strengthen the bridge service distribution gaps and improve the quality of life for the residents, especially in aspirational and undesrtited blocks.
The DC increased its gratitude for all departments, region officials and community stakeholders, whose collective efforts made this success possible. Recognition is not only a mark of previous achievement, but is an inspiration to continue overall and inclusive progress in every corner of Bandipora.
The aspirational block program aims to improve governance and service distribution in major indicators such as health and nutrition, education, agriculture and concerned services, infrastructure and social development.
