Keanu Reeves may have survived performing extreme stunts in action movies, but a comedy movie seems to have sidelined him.

Reeves stars in Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut, blessingHe was seriously injured while preparing to relax between takes.

Speaking at CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Ansari, 41, revealed that Reeves, 59, suffered a fractured kneecap. The Hollywood Reporter.

“About 15 days into filming with me, I said, ‘Go chill in your trailer,’” Ansari recalled. “He tripped on the rug. He said, ‘Ah, my knees.’ “Poor guy, he was a soldier and he had a broken kneecap, but he still went on to do all the scenes.”

Aziz noted that the accident was even more shocking considering the actor “never had to go to the hospital or anywhere else,” despite the physical demands of action movies.

“He’s done that wick movies, all matrix thing.exist speed, he actually did try to jump from a car to a bus. That’s not the shot they used, but he did,” Ansari said.

Despite the injury, Ansari revealed that Reeves “shot everything except for a few scenes that required him to dance salsa, which we needed to take over.”

“He said, ‘I’ll do it!’ We said, ‘Keanu, calm down. Once your knee heals, we’ll do the salsa dance,” he added.
