Mumbai Indians (MI) head coach Mark Boucher on Monday opened up on Suryakumar Yadav’s injury and said the team management is currently waiting for the latest updates from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In the IPL, Suryakumar represents Mumbai Indians (MI). In his IPL career, the 33-year-old has scored 3249 runs in 124 innings. Boucher, speaking at Mumbai Indians’ pre-season press conference, said they have been facing fitness issues. The former Proteas cricketer added that Mumbai Indians have a “world-class” medical team. “We are waiting for the latest news from the BCCI regarding Suryakumar. We have been plagued by fitness issues but we have a world-class medical team. We may lose one or two in terms of fitness but we have to keep moving forward as a sport,” Bu Xie said.
Recently, Suryakumar shared a video of himself working out at the gym on his official Instagram account.
While sharing the video, he wrote: “Kaam chalu hai doston, Milte hain jaldi.”
The 33-year-old was last seen in the third T20I against South Africa. He has since failed to play a single match for the Indian team due to injury.
The Mumbai-based team will take on Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.
