Cooking from scratches and avoiding ultra-related foods like pre-packed sandwiches and protein bars can help you avoid People lose weight twiceOne has found in a study.
Ultra-like food (UPF) is Usually high in saturated fat, salt and sugarThis includes materials that you will not find in your kitchen wardrobe Emulsifier and preservativeAnd there is ready-to-Eat or heat.
Study published in journal Nature Comparison of a UPF diet for a minimum of a minimum processed, and it was found that avoiding UPF helped curb the craving of food, increased Decrease in load And fat loss improved.
Testing, led by experts University College London (UCL) and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) consisted of 55 people who were overweight but otherwise healthy.
Half of the participants was given an eight -week diet plan, including minimal processed foods such as scratch -cooked oats, cottage pie and chicken salad. The other half was given a ready-to-eat protein bar, shop-bred sandwiches and microwave lasen diet.
Both diets were matched with nutrition and included the recommended levels of fat, saturated fats, protein, carbohydrates, salt and fiber.
After completing a diet for eight weeks, the groups switched.
Dr. of UCL Center for Obesity Research and UCL Department of Behavior Science and Health. Samuel Dicken said: “Previous research has combined ultra-related foods with poor health results.
“But all ultra-related foods are not naturally unhealthy based on their nutrition profile.”
Researchers targeted to find out whether eating more processed foods leads to weight, blood pressure, body structure and lack of food.

The results showed that the minimum processed diet has lost double weight (2.06 percent) in a minimum processed diet compared to the UPF diet (loss of 1.05 percent).
Researchers said that not too much fat was lost on UPF diet.
Dr. Dicken reported that although a 2 percent decrease may not look like weight loss, it is a significant amount for eight weeks.
“If we increase these results during a year, we expect a 13 percent weight reduction in men and 9 percent decrease in women on minimum processed diet, but only 4 percent weight reduction in men and 5 percent in women after a ultra-processed diet,” Dr. Dicken said.
However, researchers measured other markers such as blood pressure, heart rate, liver function, glucose levels and cholesterol, but the UPF diet could not have any significant negative effects.
Gunter Kuhanle, Professor of Food Sciences and nutrition In reading university, who were not involved in the study, told Independent: “I think it confirms that it is not processing which is important, but a food structure.”
They suggest that consumers should focus more on composition rather than processing, such as carbohydrates and fat.
However, on the UPF diet, they ate more calories than the minimum processed diet.
NHS recommends that the average woman should consume about 2,000 calories a day, while the average man should consume 2,500.
Participants were given more food than their requirement, but they were spontaneously recommended at least 230 calories on minimum processed diet and 120 calories were reduced among them on UPF diet.
A questionnaire also showed that there were less crawings than people on the diet of food prepared and packed snacks on the least processed diet.
Rob Hobson, registered nutritionist and author Insecure to your family lifeWho was not involved in the study, told Independent: “Conclusions support the idea that back cut on UPFS can help in hunger control and weight regulation and not because UPF is naturally toxic, but because they affect food behavior.
“Many are designed to be a hyper-printable, easy to eat quickly, and less satisfactory. They do not give us the same satisfaction signs similar to minimal processed foods.”
Senior writer of the study Professor Rachel Batterham said: “People will have the best advice to closer to stick to nutritional guidelines as they can limit the consumption of salt, sugar and saturated fat by modeling overall energy intake, and prefer high-fiber foods like fruits, vegetables, pulses and nuts.
“Instead of ultra-composed, packed foods or prepared food, selecting less processed options like cooking from complete foods and scratches, there is a possibility of providing additional benefits in terms of body weight, body structure and overall health.”
