A man was arrested Friday after stabbing eight people and wounding seven others with what was believed to be bleach at a tire factory in central Japan, authorities said. There was no immediate explanation for his motive.
In the west, eight people were taken to hospital after a man was stabbed with a knife at a factory of tire maker Yokohama Rubber Co. in Mishima city, Shizuoka Prefecture. TokyoAccording to the Fujisan Nanto Fire Department.
The fire department told The Associated Press that five of those stabbed were in critical condition but other details were not available.
Shizuoka Prefectural Police said the attacker, a 38-year-old man, was arrested for alleged attempted murder at the factory, but did not provide further details.

The fire department said seven other people were also injured by bleach thrown on them during the attack and were taken to hospitals for treatment.
