After weeks of speculation, the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra has finally been confirmed with an official release date. The smartphone will be launched via a live online event in March. The announcement also puts an end to rumors that the Taiwanese tech giant may shut down its smartphone division, which the company had previously denied. The Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra also appears to break from its longstanding tradition of releasing compact phones, as the company touts a “bigger experience.”

The confirmation came from the company’s social media account on X (formerly Twitter) release The teaser image of the smartphone also revealed that it will be unveiled on March 14th. The online event will begin at 8:00 PM PST (5:30 PM IST) in Taipei. The website also highlights event times in Berlin (1:00 PM CET) and New York (8:00 AM ET), hinting that the smartphone could launch in the US and Europe as well. It’s unclear if this smartphone will make it to India.

In the post, the company calls the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra an “AI-integrated flagship phone,” which likely means the smartphone will come with AI features. While the details of these features are still unclear, it is expected that they may be similar to the AI ​​features of the Google Pixel 8 Pro, Samsung’s Galaxy AI, and the AI ​​features in the Oppo ColorOS New Year’s Edition update recently released in China.

Earlier reports hinted at some key specifications of the smartphone discovered in the ROG 8 firmware update. According to this, the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra offers a 6.78-inch Full HD (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) Samsung flexible AMOLED LTPO panel with a normal refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz in Game Genie mode when playing games. It is said to be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 built-in storage.

In terms of cameras, the smartphone is likely to feature a triple rear camera unit including a 50-megapixel IMX890 primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 32-megapixel telephoto with 3x zoom lens.
