Asda has removed a brand of spinach from its shelves amid concerns some products may contain small metal flakes.
The Food Standards Agency says Taj Mahal chopped spinach should not be eaten and should be returned to shops.
The product is sold in Asda stores and Eden Farm wholesalers.
The affected spinach comes in 450g bags with a best before date of January 2026 and a barcode of 506013649177.
Asda writes on its website: “If you purchased Taj Mahal Chopped Spinach, please take it back to your nearest store where you will receive a full refund. You do not need a receipt.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

Asda added that the recall was “precautionary”.
The Food Standards Agency said in a statement: “This product may contain metal fragments and is unsafe for consumption.
“Taj Foods is recalling the above mentioned products. Point of sale notifications will be displayed in all retail stores selling this product.
“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they purchase the product.
“If you purchased the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.”
