Arvind Kejriwal should resign: BJP MPs protest outside Delhi Assembly

On Wednesday, MLAs from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party staged protests at the Delhi Assembly House, raising slogans against each other.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs staged demonstrations demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested by the education ministry in a money laundering case related to the GST policy, while Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs and their supporters protested. Opposition leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said Arvind Kejriwal should resign as chief minister.

“The chief minister should resign. There are nearly a dozen corruption charges against him. If the GST policy is world-class, why should he take it back? We demand the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal,” Ramveer Singh G Biduri said.

Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said that while Arvind Kejriwal is currently facing charges in one case, investigations are ongoing in many other cases, so He was responsible for several cases of alleged fraud. He insisted that resignation remained the only viable option under the circumstances.

He said Arvind Kejriwal’s continuation as chief minister undermined moral and constitutional principles and advocated his immediate resignation to prevent further damage to Delhi.

Meanwhile, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party chief Virendra Sachdeva also held a demonstration at the entrance of the rally venue around noon, led by about 100 party members from Mayur Vihar and the party’s Mahira · Morcha and Yuva Morcha’s office bearers staged demonstrations demanding Arvind’s resignation and Kejriwal’s resignation.

The BJP workers dressed in black gathered in front of the Parliament gate and started raising slogans. Virendra Sachdeva himself climbed up the gate and shouted slogans.

The police did not allow them to enter the gathering place. Security personnel blocked the gates and later detained protesters.

Virendra Sachdeva said the people of Delhi are frustrated with the “illegal” political farce of the Arvind Kejriwal government and claimed that they will reject them outright in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Teach the AAP-Congress alliance a lesson.

He said that two ministers of the Delhi government are already in jail and claimed that Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj may also be jailed soon for allegedly sending false letters.

Before the assembly proceedings began, AAP MLAs staged a protest outside the House and raised slogans demanding the immediate release of Arvind Kejriwal, who is detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Party leaders including Atishi and Bharadwaj also participated in the protest. They were wearing yellow T-shirts with slogans like “Main Bhi Kejriwal” and “Modi ka Sabse Bada Dar Kejriwal” written on them. They also burned an effigy.

The AAP national convener was arrested by the education ministry on March 21 and later remanded to federal custody by a court here till March 28.
