Determining his arrest and order to send him to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate as illegal, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has moved the High Court for an urgent hearing and sought his immediate release.
The AAP chief was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday in connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy scam. The agency was granted custody for seven days by the Deliraus Avenue Court on Friday.
Kejriwal approached the Delhi High Court on Saturday to challenge his arrest and remand order, calling it illegal.The chief minister sought an emergency hearing before the acting chief judge of the High Court on Sunday, claiming he was entitled to immediate release
