A German museum worker who aspired to be an artist was fired and banned from the museum for secretly hanging his paintings in the hope of achieving an “artistic breakthrough.” india today the report said.

The 51-year-old is part of the technical services team at Munich’s renowned Pinakothek der Moderne.

His painting measures 23×47 inches and is hung by drilling two holes in the empty channel.

After discovering the painting, the worker was fired and permanently banned from the gallery, one of the largest modern art galleries in Europe.

Even though his attempt was illegal, museum authorities decided to put it on display for a day.

Museum authorities declined to comment on the painting’s subject or style to avoid encouraging “copycat pranksters”.

A spokesman for the Painting Gallery told guardian “The employee considers himself an artist and likely views his role on the museum’s installation team as a day-to-day job that supports his true mission.”

The Modern Painting Gallery houses art works by famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Henri Matisse.

A similar case occurred last November, when an artist smuggled her paintings into an exhibition at the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn, Germany. Her attempt proved successful, with the museum praising her artwork and later auctioning it off with the proceeds going to charity.
