Arnold Schwarzenegger recently shared a major health update regarding heart surgery.
Appearing in the latest episode of the show Arnold Pump Club podcast Terminator The star revealed, “Last Monday I underwent surgery to become more like a machine: I had a pacemaker installed.”
Arnold recalled that doctors at the Cleveland Clinic recommended he “put a pacemaker behind the scar tissue” because other surgeries were causing irregular heartbeats.
“It’s been like this for a few years, so I’m in touch with my medical team and go in person at least once a year to get a full check-up and see how my heart is doing,” said the 76-year-old.
Interestingly, Arnold mentioned that he took a break from the gym following his pacemaker surgery.
Meanwhile, the actor also opened up about returning to work soon to film the second season of his show Fuba.
Arnold also explained why he didn’t share news of the surgery, saying: “It goes against my experience growing up in Austria.”
