Army chief General Dwivedi to visit Algeria next week

Web Desk, 22/08/2025

The Indian Army said on Friday that Army Staff (COAS) chief General Upendra Dwivedi has been scheduled to make an official visit to Algeria next week.

This operation will be his first foreign trip after victory in Sindoor, which outlines the growing role of the army in strengthening India’s strategic busyness abroad. Operation Sindoor, a punitive and targeted campaign to eliminate terrorist infrastructure within Pakistan and deeply ending terrorist infrastructure, was launched on 7 April after the Pahgam terror attack, in which 26 innocent citizens were killed in the name of religion.

According to a statement by the Indian Army, the visit lays the foundation of recent tours of President Draupadi Murmu and Defense Employees and in -depth cooperation for Alziers.

“The head of the Indian Army is expected to strengthen the army-to-Army relations, expand training exchanges and increase the initiative of capacity development. With Algeria mainly with similar equipment operations, India is deployed to share well operating expertise, provide maintenance and training aid and promote cooperation in defense technologies.

The statement said, “General Dwivedi will also share India’s strategic vision for zero tolerance for terrorism and exchange attitudes on regional and global security challenges. These discussions are expected to contribute to confidence, inter -economical and practical cooperation between two terrorists.”

On Thursday, Kos Dwivedi met India’s permanent representative to the United Nations, and Ambassador Abhay Thakur, India’s envoy with Ambassador P Harish in Myanmar.

The army said, “India’s permanent representative at the United Nations in New York and India’s Ambassador to Myanmar, Abhay Thakur called Upendra Dwivedi, the chief of the army employees,” Ambassador P Harish. ,

Earlier on Thursday, Dwivedi launched two web applications to improve the operational efficiency of military engineering services (MES).

Two apps, MES Integrated Monitoring and Management Software for Arbitration (MIMAMSA) and Electronic Measurement Book (E-MB) have been developed by the Indian Army in collaboration with Settlez ADR Institute Private Limited and Elex Softhab Private Limited (ANI) by the Indian Army.
