Argentinian woman tells Hamas she is from where Messi is.they let her go

Esther Cunio will star in a new documentary about the October 7 Hamas attack.

On October 7 last year, when Hamas gunmen broke into her home in Kibbutz Nir Oz, Israel, 90-year-old Esther Cuneo did the unthinkable. She talked about her Argentine roots and that she comes from the country of footballer Lionel Messi.

“Messi” has created a miracle. Not only did she survive the attack, but a Hamas gunman posed with her while holding an assault rifle.

Eight members of her extended family were taken hostage in the attack, The Times of Israel reported. Two of her grandchildren and one of their girlfriends remain imprisoned in Gaza, while other members of her family were released as part of the truce.

Five months later, Cuneo will star in a new documentary about the Hamas attacks that sparked the ongoing war in Gaza.

In a segment from the still-in-production documentary “Voices of 7 Days of October – Latino Survival Stories,” she recounts what happened that fateful day.

Cuneo recalled in the video that on October 7, two Hamas agents knocked on her door and asked about her family.

An unusual turn in the conversation quickly became the 90-year-old’s savior.

“Do you watch football?” she asked them.

After a Hamas agent nodded, she replied: “I’m from Messi’s hometown.”

“I like Messi,” one of them enthuses after hearing the name of one of the greatest football players. He then had her pose with a rifle and make a victory sign in the video.
