Ant and Dec took to Instagram on Sunday to share a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the final episode of Saturday Night Takeaway, marking the end of an era after 20 successful series.

The two popular hosts showed off their close friendship as they embraced each other as they rehearsed for their final show.

In one photo, the pair appeared relaxed and casual as they walked off stage in sweatshirts and jeans, microphones in hand.

Even though it was an important occasion, they seemed in good spirits.

Photos on Instagram also include snaps with celebrity friends Stephen Mulhern, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, capturing their camaraderie and celebrations during the final.

Ant and Dirk shared their final words while fighting back tears in the final moments of the series last weekend before bidding an emotional farewell.

Ant and Dec reflected on the show’s success and longevity, with Ant saying: “It’s been a huge honor to produce this show and be part of your Saturday night shows for 22 years.”

Dec added, “When we started this in 2002 we all thought we would be lucky if we could do this for a few years.”
